Wanted: Maori/English dictionaries

Karen from Nawton

Hi does anyone have any Maori/English dictionaries for sale/free. Daughter learning Maori at uni this semester in readiness for her early childhood degree next year (4-6 years) in the hope of eventually being a hospital play specialist (she spent bulk of her childhood in/out of hospital and the specialists really helped her, so she wants to give back and help others). It's her 26th birthday 12th August and I'm trying to find her reasonably priced (0-$15 each depending on size/condition etc) and in reasonably good condition suitable Maori/English dictionaries. She is visually impaired so some may be required to be scanned in order to enable them to have larger font for her to read. Many thanks. I'm in the Dominion/Lloyd area. Other than her very loving mum she has the support of a wonderful caring partner (it was his birthday yesterday 'friday') as well as family and friends.

Share your New Zealand music memories...

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

It's NZ Music Month and New Zealand really has some beautiful songs from artists that we call our own.

Whether it's April Sun in Cuba, Don't Forget your Roots, or How Bizarre or Bic Runga's 'Sway' - songs have a way of unlocking memories and evoking old feelings.

In honour of NZ Music Month, share a New Zealand song or artist that is special to you and explain why.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.

Have you got a job for Don?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

For most people in their early 80s, having to find work in order to make ends meet is something they will have happily put behind them in order to enjoy the fruits of retirement.

For Don McGovern, it’s an ongoing necessity - but also a challenge he is relishing.

Ideally, he would love to be employed as a groundskeeper, gardener, or on some kind of lawn mowing contract.
