looking for 2 brm house for rent
I am a semi retired single mature lady living with my furr babies looking for a 2 brm house for rent. I had back surgery 2 yrs ago and has long term limitation abilities as in standing, walking ,climbing up stairs and high risk of falls. I am living in a rental house for the last 8yrs and now the owners of the property has decided to sell the house.I was given notice to vacate the house by October. Based on my limitations in doing certain tasks and keeping my house a safe place , the house that I am looking for need to have the following requirements or design.
They are :
No stairs/No steps
One level
Shower (No shower in bath) I had several falls in the bath in the past
Low maintenance garden or courtyard
Single access internal garage- so will be easy for me to walk into the house in carrying laundry or shopping
Pets friendly as my cats are house trained and indoor cats (3)
I have always paid my rent on time over the years of living in rental property. I can still drive. I do my best to keep the house clean and I do get home help from the hospital once a week.
I am willing to pay $400 - $550 per week .
I don't have much time and need to move out by mid October.
Please if anyone knows of rental house with the above requirements or have house for rent, please contact me at

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Principal defends $17k overseas trip as research
A Hamilton principal whose $17,000 trip to Hawaii and Alaska was highlighted in an report on questionable school spending says he was doing doctoral work on how streaming affects students.
Fairfield College principal Richard Crawford is defending the trip, saying it was his first sabbatical in his 19-year career as a principal and contributed to learning he’d be applying to both his school, and potentially others, through his research.
Festive cheer, fiscal fear - and questions about growth
Hamilton’s boom-town status has been called into question as Hamilton City Council grapples with the need to bring rates within Government mandated limits.
Councillor Andrew Bydder said assumptions about relentless population growth may be “out of date”, and called for a review of the issue early next year.
