Makes you think a salient point posed by a family member
One has time to ponder whilst waiting in line for the second jab of the covid 19 vaccine.
The whys and what ifs that brought you to this place, this line, in this time.

There is much debate on the internet re the validity of the reaction to the pandemic, and the root causes , with theories both conspiracy and cerebral ,distributed daily.

Faced with that, how strong was my certainty in perhaps a contrary view, what intellectual effort had I made to insure I had the facts

My reality , my choices came down in its essence to integrity; as the consequence of any belief, could have an impact on others, my lack of being vaccinated , could have fatal repercussions on anyone I interacted with.

The alternative morally should be to isolate myself entirely until the pandemic has passed completely.
In simple terms I have no wish to stand at a funeral of those that I love and hold dear, receiving condolences and sympathy for a loss that could have been prevented...the affection and concern I have for such as my grandchildren and family outweigh any belief that places them in harms way and likewise those in the wider community.

On leaving I thanked the nurse and others for their service, its a custom many Americans have for their enlisted. But these people on the front line also serve and place their lives at risk. They seemed somewhat surprised.

We love seeing our apprentices making waves in the industry.
Wade Peek was recently named Plastics Apprentice of the Year, is definitely one to watch. With two qualifications under his belt, he’s been earmarked as a future plastics industry leader.

He hopes to one day start his own manufacturing business and says: "I really want to pass on what I have learnt to support apprentices in their training. I also want to be able to teach people outside of the plastics industry about what we do, as I truly believe we can't solve any of the really important environmental issues that surround plastic unless as many people as possible understand it."

If you are thinking of signing up for an apprenticeship, get in touch with us here

If a car had come over the brow it possibly would not have had time to see her and it could have been catastrophic. I called to her explained to her I was worried for her safety so thankfully she moved to the pavement. At this time as there is fewer cars travelling on our roads we still need to be alert and safety savy. I am so pleased nothing happened to that young girl. Please take care

Dear neighbours,

We're all working from home during this lockdown, not just to bring you your favourite gardening mag, but also our Garden Diary 2022! This is where we need your help: Show us how you've been using your 2021 Diary -- take photos of the pages, tell us what was most useful, did you have enough space to write your notes, what have you scribbled on the pages? Did you clip your plant labels on them? Perhaps shoot a little video with your phone as you turn the pages. Your feedback will help us put together next year's diary.

Please email your comments and photos to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, by this Friday, Aug 27. The five most helpful readers will each receive a free copy of the 2022 diary.
