Poll: Do you think driving on the beach should be allowed?
Whakapapa lessons and a petition with more signatures than residents were presented to councillors to try and save Kāwhia Harbour from “eggs” doing donuts and creating their own trails on the beloved beach.
The Ōtorohanga District Council was left with a lot to ponder after its meeting on Tuesday, where a delegation of concerned members of Te Taiao o Kāwhia Moana made their feelings known.

From rugged campsite to 7.5ha resort
Grant Kilby has always loved camping. His mum was director of health at the YMCA, and he would attend YMCA camps in the school holidays. “I think it was mandatory that I was there,” he jokes.
He went on camping holidays with his parents, and later, took his own kids.
