University of Auckland coordinating between hospitals/MoW/rest homes and manufacturers
Hello again, Hamilton. There is an effort via UoA to coordinate needed supplies to healthcare facilities. If you have contacts who work in healthcare/care/assistance or work in manufacturing, you can help by linking them up! Here's the message from Annabelle:
I am working with the University of Auckland to try and co ordinate channels between manufacturers and suppliers willing to help to hospitals and other healthcare sectors for PPE and other equipment. This can be everything from material masks to printed / CNC milled valves etc. for hospital equipment and I need help getting the word out and connecting as many people as possible.
I need:
* Hospital and Healthcare workers: (including nurses, doctors, meals on wheels, rest homes, shelters etc.) to contact me with what demand they have, what supplies they need, the quantities and time frames and to what specifications. Please fill in this form:
docs.google.com...
* NZ based Manufacturers: to contact me with what ability they have to fulfil demands (i.e. CNC milling, 3D printing, laser cutting, ability to sew large amounts of material etc. etc.), quantities and time frames. Please fill in this form:
docs.google.com...
If you are one of the two groups please fill in the forms. If you know anyone in those two groups, please help by sharing this with them and ask them to fill in the forms. The more people who register demand, the more validation we can give to organisations or where demand is centred and what it is and the quicker we can get this ball rolling!
If you have other comments or suggestions I can be contacted at acol208@aucklanduni.ac.nz
Please don't hesitate to contact me!
Best wishes!

Police apologise to rest home alleged theft victim after failing to act
Police have apologised to a pensioner who caught a carer-turned-crook allegedly stealing cash, admitting there was more they could have done.
The about-face comes after the Waikato Times revealed the plight of rest home resident Lisa Allen, who set up a hidden-camera, capturing footage that appeared to show the caregiver opening her handbag and taking out a $50 note while the room was unattended.
