My first call was from 00 784 62.. - that's from a Caribbean island so I didn't answer. Had 2nd thoughts and reset to don't add zero which caused the number to display as 07 846 2... - Hamilton no. which I should have answered.
It appears the instructions are out of date in the phone's manual. If you're in NZ on Copper lines, do add zero but if on fibre, don't
