Coronavirus: Half of all mystery Covid-19 cases are on the West Coast
New Zealand has only four coronavirus cases with no link to travel or existing cases – and a disproportionate number of those are on the West Coast.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on Monday there were only eight cases left with no obvious link to travel or contact with another confirmed case. That number dropped to four on Tuesday, which includes two on the West Coast.
Grey district mayor Tania Gibson called for sentinel community testing at a supermarket on the West Coast, and said she encouraged anyone who felt unwell – even if they just had a sniffle – to get tested.
