Road users between Greymouth and Reefton prep for delays

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Drivers who travel on State Highway 7 between Greymouth and Reefton overnight need to be ready for some delays at the end of this month. The Stoney Creek Bridge, north of Ikamatua, south of Reefton, is being strengthened by NZ Transport Agency crews.

This work on the bridge piers will see the bridge closed every night between 10 pm and 6 am, from Sunday, 23 September, to Wednesday night/ Thursday morning, 27 September.

Most vehicles will be allowed to go across at the top of each hour during a brief opening, but drivers of vehicles weighing more than 3,500 kg/3.5 tonne will not be allowed across at all during the night closure.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
