Soul Deep BBQ in the park.

Hohepa from Otago Peninsula

Hi neighbours, my partner and I play in a local band called "Soul Deep".  We live at" 09 McAuley Rd. Portobello"(behind "Happy Hens).  We have been here for around 18 months, we hold band practice in our home most Sunday afternoons, and our immediate neighbours seem to be fine with the sound we produce, which is both supportive and encouraging.  So as a gesture of appreciation for you our Portobello neighbours and community, the band would like to invite you to our :
BBQ IN THE PARK and FREE CONCERT
Saturday 17th Dec (if wet we'll do it Sunday18th)
Latham Park (In front of Happy Hens, bottom of Beaconsfield Rd)
12 noon till 4pm.
Bring a picnic, we will supply limited free sausage sizzle and fiz, a standard size BBQ will be available should you want to bring some meat to cook.  Alcohol is permitted (be cool)  Hope to see you there!!

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
