Do you know how the Single Transferable Vote system works?

Fourteen candidates are vying to be Dunedin's next mayor, but the biggest unknown could be the voting system.
Dunedin is one of 11 councils using Single Transferable Vote this year, which requires voters to rank their preferred candidates.
