Day 2 - Neighbours Day Roadtrip (Dunedin, Timaru, Waitaki)

What an incredible day! Day 2 of it road trip we were hosted in Dunedin by Presbyterian Support Otago for our first workshop and heard about the great community initiatives happening. We went and had a chat with Jeff at OAR FM Dunedin - Community Access Media , and then long time supporter Lois from Neighbourhood Support New Zealand before heading up to The Waitaki Community Gardens (AKA the most beautiful place ever!) For workshop #2 and then met with Jim a Neighbourly.co.nz lead in Timaru! What a day! #NDA2019

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
