Help fight the removal of the Belleknowes - Roslyn Postbox
The Postbox on the intersection of Ross St and Highgate outside Grays Studio is to be removed by NZ Post on February 3rd 2017 - Just 2 weeks away. Help fight the removal of this Post Box by phoning 0800 501 501 and lodging a complaint about its removal. We all know that it this age of email there has been a downturn in the volumes of mail through post boxes. However, this is an important community service which some people, especially the elderly and people running businesses from home, still use. We question the reasons for removing this box especially on the grounds of low usage and the minimal costs of maintaining such a service. We are also concerned about the lack of community consultation over this decision and the short period of notice given.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
