Do you know how the Single Transferable Vote system works?
Fourteen candidates are vying to be Dunedin's next mayor, but the biggest unknown could be the voting system.
Dunedin is one of 11 councils using Single Transferable Vote this year, which requires voters to rank their preferred candidates.
What do you think of the STV system? Is it confusing or does it make the race fairer? Tell us what you think in the comments below.

We’re adjusting the electorate boundaries
We’re adjusting our electorate boundaries for the next two general elections.
By making sure each electorate has about the same number of people, we can give all New Zealanders equal representation in Parliament. It’s all balance.
If we move one of your electorate boundaries, you could end up in a different electorate to the one you’re in now – so we show you what we’re proposing before we make any changes and give you the opportunity to share your thoughts.
