On December 7, 2022, quickly and peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of St John of God, aged 66 years. A very much loved member of his large family, loved by colleagues and workmates from a long career in Christchurch Hospitality, and a friend and mentor to many in the ‘Foodie’ community. A very special thanks to those who have provided support and friendship to Michael during his long journey. Friend of the flora and fauna. Annemarie died peacefully at home, with Eric and family at her side, looking out on her much-loved garden in full bloom. Beloved wife, partner, and best friend of Eric Schusser. Dearly loved daughter of Barbara and the late David. Precious sister of Katherine and Ian, Anthony and Katie, special Aunt of Josh and Ethan, beloved friend of so many. A woman of enormous grace, dignity, beauty, towering strength, endless compassion and the utmost integrity - a photographic genius who put all others before herself. Annemarie (54) lived life to the fullest especially during her five and half years living with breast cancer. Friend, confidante and guide to so many, supporter of countless projects locally and nationally, the world is a considerably lesser place for her loss. At Annemarie’s request a private family service and cremation has been held. This is to be followed by a memorial service on the shores of Lake Pukaki at a future date for extended family and friends, travelling from far and near to share a special time together celebrating Annemarie.
