Entered into the Kingdom of God on December 10, 2022, aged 94 years, after a short illness. Adored and loving wife of the late Jim. Dearly loved mother of Cheryl, Neville and Elizabeth and the late Lynn. A much loved sister of Dawnie, and the late Phyllis and Cedric. A loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Heartfelt thanks to Stephen and Barbara (Nelson Hospital Chaplaincy), and to Paul and the St Paul’s Church community (Brightwater). Special thanks to all the staff in the AT and R ward who cared for Shirley with such compassion, also to the Access carers who supported Shirley at home prior to her sudden illness. Beloved mother of her children; Clare Mudgway (Upper Hutt), Gaylene Klaassen (Morrinsville), Sharon Thomson (Johnsonville), Juliet Holland (Netherlands), Phillip Holland (Christchurch) and their respective spouses. Beloved 2nd Mum of Daniel Bolland (Queensland). Nan of all her Grandchildren & Great-Grandson. Elder daughter of the late Mavis & John Fitzgerald.
