My poor, sweet dog!
Hi, Anyone else have issues with dogs at the dog park?
My beautiful, sweet natured girl just loves to run & play & I always check out the park before going in. Today, it looked good then a lady arrived with her dog who was very overbearing on mine & but next thing, mine squeals but seems ok, so I leave as fast as I can, not realising until after leaving that she has a long, deep tooth graze just under her eye! Not bleeding but another few cm and she would be blind in that eye!
Her 2 doggie besties (1 of whom I met on here!) aren't avail much anymore due to their owners working dif hours now. I have other friends with small dogs, but she needs a med sized dog like herself (black lab/staffy x) with a sweet nature like herself.
Does anyone have a med sized dog who is sweet natured, (not overbearing or nip) but loves to play & run that might like to meet mine (NOT at the dog park!)?
We could meet up on leads first & see if they're happy with each other & go from there. Pse txt 027 5141 394 Cheers, Jo
Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
