Central city stayaways
Have you been into Christchurch city since the earthquakes? Our discussion about busses a couple of weeks ago prompted an interesting email from someone who revealed she hasn't been into the CBD since the earthquakes. I don't think she's alone, but I'd be interested to know how many people are in the same boat. Have you stayed away from the central city, either deliberately or because the transport isn't there? Why? Do you know someone who has chosen or hasn't been able to visit? Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
