Teenager completes 24-hour mountain challenge to raise $6000 for LandSAR
In 24 hours Ben McDrury scaled Mt Thomas eight times, notching up 60 kilometres and earning a large sum of money for a search and rescue organisation.
The 19-year-old carpentry apprentice from Loburn repeatedly hiked the North Canterbury trail from 6am on Saturday, completing 5700 metres of climbing the arduous route to secure almost $6000 via a Givealittle page for LandSAR Oxford.
