How should the Coromandel be future-proofed against wild weather?

Thames Coromandel mayor Len Salt estimated $2 billion in government funding was the “best case scenerio” to future-proof the region over the next 10 -15 years, after what he called decades of under-investment.

Council had been working over the last 12 months with government agencies like NZTA and the Waikato Regional Council to build a convincing case.
