Young Birds
3 times in the past week we have had young birds crash into our garden facing windows. On the first 2 occasions we were able to rescue the birds and put them somewhere safe to recover, but the one today was very young and passed away in the cloth I was holding it in. It seems late in the spring/summer season for such young birds to be about. Is this because of the weather pattern? Has anyone else notice unusual birds activity?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
