The garage's alarm system … View moreOvernight thieves broke into my garage in Chapter Street St Albans and stole my 1978 Mazda 323 Station Wagon. The Vehicle is in mint condition and highly sought after by Boy Racers who stole the jail bar grille off it shortly after the September 4th 2010 earthquake. The garage's alarm system was disabled by the thieves who were methodical in their burglary, as the vehicle had no battery and was being kept off the road. It anyone can assist with the successful location of the vehicle a reward will be offered for the car's recovery. It is orange and exactly like the one depicted in the photographs which is in Victoria Australia. My vehicle's number plate is JI2292

More than 200 Christchurch parks will be left without rubbish bins when the city council finishes removing 840 of them across the city.
About 100 “smart” bins will be installed instead, but 211 “low-use” neighbourhood parks will have their bins taken away and not returned.

About 100 “smart” bins will be installed instead, but 211 “low-use” neighbourhood parks will have their bins taken away and not returned.
The smart bins are bigger and are equipped with sensor technology that provides the council’s maintenance contractor with daily information on how full each bin is.
Council head of parks Andrew Rutledge said the data meant the contractor only needed to send crews out to empty the bins when required, saving time and money.
In areas without bins, the council encouraged people to take any rubbish home with them, and put it in their red wheelie bin.

I still currently need participants for my PhD study. I am looking for healthy people to come into my office (in Christchurch CBD) for around an hour, on two occasions, to complete some pen and paper activities with me (fun ones according to previous participants!).
Part of what we do, is to recruit healthy participants who match with the patients on age and gender. This is so we can try to rule out any effects differences in these may have on results. So far I haven’t been able to source enough men aged 45-55 to take part.
This is a volunteer opportunity, but you will also receive $50 petrol vouchers as compensation for your time and travel.

The 40-hour week and eight-hour working day, introduced 10 years earlier but in general practice only from 1946, contributed to the 5 o'clock rush.
