ANZAC Day commemorations have been held at the Burwood Monument on the corner of Lake Terrace & New Brighton Roads for many years. However after the red zoning of the land around this area, the commemorations stopped.

Together with All Saints Church, New Brighton Road, we are very pleased to say that this year on ANZAC Day, 25 April at 11am a service will once again be held at the Burwood Monument on the corner of Lake Terrace & New Brighton Roads.

We would like to invite you, and any of your colleagues, families or community members to attend this service. Please spread the word and feel free to forward this email and/or flyer on to anyone who you think this service will be of interest. All are welcome!

We have invited representatives from the RSA, local churches, schools, Scouts, Cubs, Guides, Pippins, preschools, community boards, etc to attend. We encourage as many families from our community to attend and would like to see this once again being an annual event.

Please see the attached flyer for details.

If, like us, you love to see a native lowland forest and wetlands for all of Christchurch to use, for free, be sure to let Regenrate know you support us and our vision. The more support the better!
Our vision is to transform the Avon River Red Zone into a vibrant, city-to-sea native forest park along the Avon-Ōtākaro River.

We believe this land should be returned to nature, creating a ribbon of green from the the town centre to New Brighton. A forest park would provide a setting for sensitive recreation, a catalyst for regeneration and tourism, protection from flooding and pollution and enhance our city. It will also create an ecological paradise for native flora and fauna and a clean, green forest park to be enjoyed by all. We advocate for a simple, common sense approach that works with nature to remediate this land for the good of the community and our natural environment. Our forest park proposal is low cost, low impact with huge benefits and returns both directly and indirectly.

We are happy to give it away in exchange for someone taking out the old one and taking it away. It includes a fridge and freezer (side by side stand alone type), an oven, a sink unit, a pantry and various other cupboards and drawers. The bench is a darkish green colour and the cabinets are a lighter toning green. We are thinking it will be ready to go early May at this stage. Please phone Jan, 027 552 8769, if you want to come and have a look or I can send photos.

We also have a corner computer desk and a computer keyboard to give away.
