Our second hand Variety Shop is looking to increase our volunteer numbers. We are a small team, in a small shop, so we have been looking at diversifying our operations so we can provide the same great service in front of shop, and get the donations sorted and priced out back in a timely manner, so our customers get to grab some awesome bargains. To do this, without overloading our already incredible crew, we are needing more Sorters, over most days of the week. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
