Favourite foodie finds

Lorna Thornber Reporter from Stuff Travel

Hi everyone,
We'd be keen to hear about your favourite foodie finds on your travels through NZ. Have you come across a particularly amazing cafe, bakery restaurant or food truck? Had an especially delicious pie, burger, sandwich, smoothie bowl or cronut? Been to what must be one of the country's best fish and chip joints? Or been pleasantly surprised by a town's food scene? Please share the details below and include 'NFP' (not for publication) in your comment if you don't want it included in an article. Cheers.

Canterbury Drivers

Les from North New Brighton

Evening All, A sincere message to all Canterbury drivers. Nay all NZ drivers. PLEASE SLOW DOWN. There is more than YOUR CAR on the road. I spend a lot of my time on the road and YES I too make mistakes but I do not go looking for trouble as some drivers seem to do. The speed limit is there for a reason. While travelling EAST on TRAM RD. last night at a speed of 100kph ,following at a safe distance the vehicle in front at about 9.30pm in the dark crossed the intersection of Tram/S. Eyre Rds a vehicle turned from south side of S.Eyre Rd on to Tram Rd in the same easterly direction. By the time I traveled to the YELLOW NO PASSING line approaching the T intersection of Haywards Rd the following vehicle (a white utility vehicle with open tray half covered with a tarpaulin) was passing me and the vehicle in front of me on the wrong side of the road through that intersection and the next intersection {Island Rd}. Both intersections fully PROTECTED by NO PASSING YELLOW line. This movement of the passing vehicle put myself , the vehicle in front of me, the occupants of the passing vehicle AND ANY vehicle coming out of these roads at risk of serious injury even death. What possessed the driver of that vehicle to do such a thing. He was going so fast could not get Reg No. (Bugger). Had nothing to provide Police with.(double Bugger). Have just read a report in the paper of accident south of Christchurch where a driver under the effect of drugs and on a Cell phone drove through a STOP SIGN and T Boned a car seriously injuring the innocent driver. COME ON NZ TAKE CARE OUT THERE. PLEASE####
