Time to start having your say on the Red Zone!

Ashley Campbell from Greening The Red Zone

Here's your chance to tell Regenerate Christchurch what you want to happen!

RC has released its draft outline, which is basically a document saying how it's planning to work over the next year in deciding what happens to the red zone. It's asked for feedback, and it's really, really important that it gets it! This will determine what chances you get to have your say over the next year.

RC didn't have to ask for feedback on this, but it has, so we should make sure we give it! Greening the Red Zone has made it easy for you. We've sent our submission in (the attached document) and we've created an easy submission form for you on our website.

If you agree with the points we make, HAVE YOUR SAY NOW! Our submission form is fully editable, so you can either use our suggested text (the very easy peasy option), edit it, or create your own.

Please make sure you submit. It's the future of the red zone we're talking about!

2025 has been massive. The Luxon-led Government's attacks on workers, on Te Tiriti, on pay equity, on educators, on health workers, and on the public service, have been relentless.

Leslie from Avonside - Dallington

But despite everything thrown at working people, we've also seen some massive wins. We've fought back together with strike action. We've unified with days of action. We have focused on what matters. Make no mistake, 2026 will be wild, and we are ready for it! Source - New Zealand Council of Trade Unions

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
