Loves the sun, is frost hardy and drought resistant when established .
Growing in the ground the blooms are a metre high.

This Healthy little Blackcurrant bush will grow rapidly. Believe it or not it already has fruit on it though it is only about 40cms high. They could be picked off the plant as it is too little.
It should fruit in the next year or two and will put on rapid growth' through the Summer

Blackcurrants are hardy....I have never had them get disease problems. They are deciduous and produce bunches of black currants in the Summer. Lovely for making jam, or blackcurrant drinks. You do not need to top and tail them as we do Gooseberries.
They grow to not much more than and metre and a half.

Having a bit of a pre-Christmas clear out. A selection of Christmas tree ornaments plus some jingle bells (~2.7m long).

Clearing out some of our Christmas stuff. This is a large pottery snowman (50cm tall). He's in excellent condition as he gets bubble wrapped every year. His lamp has a tea-light holder which we've never used. Pick-up in Greytown.
