Something I love about Waitaki District...
On a sunny day, walk up to the Oamau lookout and have a look at the Oamaru town below, the mountains to the west, the sea to the north east. Then continue your walk back down to Friendly Bay playground around to the Penguin colony to see the many seals sun bathing on the rocks and grass.
