Foster Hope Charitable Trust
Foster Hope purchases items to go inside backpacks that are given to children when they go into foster care as sadly, it’s not unusual for a child to arrive in care with only the clothes that they’re standing in. Our backpacks include a book, soft toy, toiletries, a carry all bag and other bits and pieces to let the child know that their community cares about them. We would love to include packs of new underwear in the packs if we had additional funds. VOTE NOW!

Taradale Alleyway Improvement / Beautification project
Taradale has two alleyways that are unlit and therefore unsafe to use in the evenings and due to their rundown appearance and lack of adequate directional signage, they are not working as well as they could to link the community to the center of Taradale. The project includes: installing safety lighting for evenings, painting a mural on the 36 metre long large wall to celebrate the 130th year since Taradale was made a Town District; erecting mural panels; installing better signage. Kidz need Dadz NZ
Our services provide a range of programmes for all Dads, and a weekly support group. Our programmes are Dad focused, being a new parent, parenting with teens, understanding relationships. Any funds raised are used to support Dads in these areas as well as provide for community events that we run through the year. VOTE NOW!

Free For All
Free For All is a community focused initiative that promotes the sharing of resources by saving usable items from the landfill and then giving the items away free of any cost or conditions. We have recently opened a free, appointment based, op shop where the community can come shopping for needs and wants with no questions or judgements. We need help with day to day running costs; rent, power, petrol and advertising, to help make the community aware of what is available to them. VOTE NOW!

South Canterbury Child Restraint Rentals
Car seat hire schemes were abandoned in New Zealand after 35 years of support. We think that it is important to have seats available to families with children visiting from out of town or overseas. Without a local rental scheme, they would need to purchase brand new car seats to only be used for a few weeks. The few seats we have at the moment are due to expire next year - we need to build up stock! VOTE NOW!

Students working to make walkways safe
Students from Murrays Bay Primary School and Intermediate School have worked with the New Zealand Police and Auckland Transport in an effort to encourage students to walk to school. Students have designed a logo that Auckland Transport have made into a stencil. The students want to use this logo on safe walkways to their schools. They need funds for the paint and brushes to do this. VOTE NOW!

Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust
I would like to nominate the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter Trust who in 2016 flew 532 missions throughout the top of the South Island. The service is 70% funded by the community and offers a free dedicated rescue helicopter service, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. By supporting our vital service, we can continue to save lives throughout the region. VOTE NOW!

Whangaroa Community Trust
I would like to nominate Whangaroa Community Trust to assist in purchasing paint to create a mural to brighten up and prevent graffiti on the Kaeo amenities block that is next to the children's playground. They are also looking to raise the last $500 to purchase CCTV cameras for the Kaeo main street to help keep our community safe. VOTE NOW!
