A million trees
Over the past three years, we have undertaken to plant one million mainly native trees and shrubs across Auckland. It was an ambitious undertaking but this year, we will not only hit a million trees mark, but we will also exceed it by one hundred thousand.
By achieving this we have helped make our city a greener and more pleasant place. Join us at our Matariki public planting sessions at Hunua Domain (Sat 18 May), Totara Park (Fri 14 and Sat 15 of June) and Metro Park East in Silverdale (Sun 29 June).
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
