The not so Goody McDonald's card compare to its old McCafe Card

Edwin Ong from Glen Eden

Just want to know what others think about the the so-called McDonald's 'Goody' card. McDonald's used to have a coffee card, they give you a stamp for each hot drink that you have, so 1 = 1 stamp, 2 = 2 stamp and so on and you get a free drink after the 5th one. McDonald's used to have a coffee card, they give you a stamp for each hot drink that you have, so 1 = 1 stamp, 2 = 2 stamp and so on and you get a free drink after the 5th one. With the Goody card, you scan your card supposed to be 'Goody' card once regardless how many hot drinks you order from McCafe. It would be nice if they based your scan to how much you order but they don't since you scan your card without them matching it to an order of any sort. So you can order 5 drinks or spend 50 or 100 dollar and still just get a scan of whatever it is, nobody knows. Personally, I don't think this is fair to the customer and has been asking them to return the good ole McCafe Card, some of the branches still have them and some don't. Some branch manager doesn't mind overwriting the system and re-scan the Goody card to how many hot drinks you order but most don't. What do you think?

Oh, you can't imagine the anger and frustration this morning. The other day, my soggy Western Leader arrived. I dutifully removed the free rubber band and unwrapped my paper. I left it to dry on the bench.

This morning, it was a bit crunchy, but dry. I chucked the homes section into the recycling bin. We don't need it to start fires anymore.

I then, eagerly began my assault on the events of the past week+. The silly comments of many of my neighbours. The news stories that don't give many facts, but lots of opinions.

Then I came to the last page.

I went back through. Searching.

I then went from back to front. Searching.

Where was it? Where was my sudoku? Where was my crossword puzzle? Was it in the Home section? No.

Curse you Western Leader!! You have let me down for the last time.

(These are the kinds of rubbish complaints I love about Neighbourly. I assume that the WL was a couple of pages of news and comments short of needing another sheet and had to cut the games section. Oh well.)

Only 31 per cent of people in New Zealand's biggest city have voted in the Local Body Elections, with polls set to close at midday.

As of Saturday morning, Auckland voter turnout was sitting at 31.48 per cent, which is 3.7 per cent lower than in 2016 and 1.7 per cent below 2013, which had the lowest ever turnout for an Auckland Council election.

Usually the last day of voting will add between two and three per cent, meaning this years election could fall short of the 2013 low of 35.2 per cent.

Click the link to read more and find out how to vote if you are yet to do so, but be quick - you only have until 12pm.
