You can still keep in touch with your loved one though in quite a few virtual ways (text, messenger, face time, WhatsApp etc) as well as phone calls. Phone them directly on their mobile or you can phone 09 276 0044 and ask to be put through to the ward or area where your whaanau member is. Haumaru te taonga – keeping our treasures safe.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
