Mt Eden Village is celebrating the Auckland Heritage Festival with a local heritage competition on our facebook page. Please visit www.facebook.com... in order to enter.

We invite you to upload and share a memory or old photo of Mt Eden Village (or nearby) into the comments on the featured Mt Eden Heritage Competition post and the most ‘liked’ will win a $100 voucher from one of our local businesses. Twenty prizes of this beautiful History of Mount Eden book can also be won via random draw.

You must be able to collect your prize from the Chapter Book and Tea Shop, 442 Mt Eden Rd. Competition open until Friday 6th October, 12pm. Winners will be contacted via DM. Do enter. We’d love to see your photos and memories.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
