TNVZ names Tova OāBrien as new Breakfast co-host
OāBrien replaces Jenny-May Clarkson who left the morning news show last month, and joins Chris Chang as host beginning in 2026.
TVNZ executive editor - news and current affairs Phil OāSullivan said OāBrien brought a wealth of broadcast experience across television and radio.
āSheās delivered numerous high-profile interviews with global figures and provided live, breaking news coverage from across Aotearoa and further afield. Sheās sharp, energetic and trusted.
āBest of all, she understands morning audiences inside out.ā
Broadcaster OāBrien is currently Stuffās chief political correspondent and previously worked for Newshub and the now-defunct Today FM. Today FM ceased broadcasting on March 30, 2023, after OāBrien interrupted the mid-morning Duncan Garner Today on air to announce the stationās closure, saying āThey have f....d us.ā
OāBrien is one of many presenter changes announced in recent months by TVNZ. Melissa Stokes was revealed as the new 1News at Six presenter, with Simon Dallow stepping down.
