Senior Constable Don Allan's monthly newsletter

Colleen from Onehunga

Happy Spring Neighbours :-)
Please pass this newsletter on as there are a lot of valuable tips to reduce crime on page 5 and 6. Vehicle crime prevention tips are detailed on page 7.
Don's newsletter is always welcome, he's been up-skilling during August training new Police constables from Police college.
He comments "A majority of crime occurs due to the unforeseen opportunities that are created by unwitting victims not aware of the opportunities they are presenting for criminals." Please refer to burglary and vehicle crime prevention advice in the newsletter. He's pointed out these things many times to help us stay safe. -
He's mentioned some very useful things to look for to reduce crime, including our vigilance and reporting it all to the Police.
Over 100 licence plates are stolen throughout Auckland each month !!!

Maybe put Crimestoppers number in your phone contacts to report some information about crime whilst keeping your identity anonymous - 0800 555 111 or call 105 to report crime that is not an emergency.

Stay Safe
Regards
Colleen

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
