Auckland Heritage Festival-Heritage Walk: Papatoetoe railway precinct
Join members of the Papatoetoe Historical Society on a walk through the railway heritage precinct.
The arrival of rail to Papatoetoe in 1875 had a huge impact on the lives of residents and surrounding areas. A journey by train brings back many memories. This heritage walk starts at the relocated Old Papatoetoe Railway Station which is now a café. It goes past former railway houses and buildings, crosses the footbridge to the current railway station and back to the beginning.
Afterwards, you can see inside the station building and view railway memorabilia.
Date: Saturday 12 October 2019, 2pm-4pm Old Papatoetoe Railway station 1 St George St, Papatoetoe
