93 93 year old assaulted and wedding ring stolen in care facility

Jennifer from Titirangi

Just to let everyone know that if you have elderly relative in Heritage resthome and hospital, Rosebank Rd Avondale
You should urgently ensure they have no valuables or jewellery in their possession.
On recent visit there I was shocked to discover my 93 year mother’s wedding ring was removed from her finger and she had a significant cut to her lip and bruise on her leg.
We had not previously removed the ring as it was very tight on her finger and we were afraid of causing injury.
She was incapable of removing the ring herself.
There has been no explanation for the injuries.
This has been reported to the resthome and to the police.
