I volunteer with Pet Whisperer Rescue who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome strays and abandoned cats in Auckland.

We’re getting more and more messages to help with kittens or cats on the streets, and our volunteers/fosters are already full to the brim. Become a foster and help make a difference to the life of a rescued kitten/cat.

We provide the things you’ll need to look after the cat like food, litter, toys, bedding, etc., all you need is:

✅ small room or space to set a large crate
✅ landlords permission if renting
✅ ability to transport cat for vet visits
✅ and time to provide care, love, and attention to rescued cats to get them ready for their forever home

This is a great opportunity for kids to learn the responsibilities around owning a pet or help you to understand if you’re ready to own a pet yourself. It’s also great if you work from home and could use some furry company.

If you can help, fill in this the volunteer form:

Got my pots and pans and start clanging to get it to get out of my backyard and all. 😡😡😡

If you know your Pitbull is aggressive leash em up and not let it stray out. When something happens and your fave pet gets taken away, do not blame it on anyone but you 🤦‍♂️

Kia ora koutou,

My name is Katerina and I am currently working towards a Masters Thesis in Psychology at the University of Auckland.

We are looking to find out how a large sample of healthy New Zealanders perform on a small number of tasks involving social cognition (understanding what other people are thinking and feeling) and executive function (planning and problem-solving) and on measures of well-being and social connectedness. This will provide information about the normal range of performance and may provide a useful comparison in future studies involving people with neurological problems.

The study will take no longer than 1 hour of your time and you will receive a $20 Countdown voucher for participation. The study will take place at the School of Psychology, Science Centre, 23 Symonds St.

If you are interested, please email me at eger856@aucklanduni.ac.nz and I can arrange a call to check eligibility and provide more information.

Thank you for your interest and time in reading this post!

This study has been approved by the University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee on 15/12/2023 for three years. Reference Number UAHPEC26994.
