Auckland retirement village residents sew hundreds of masks in lockdown
A band of retirees have been busy over lockdown sewing 300 masks in just two weeks.
Five residents of Metlifecare’s Crestwood retirement village in New Lynn were concerned for the safety of their peers, so they decided to put their decades of experience with the needle and fabric to good use.
Now all the retirement residents are masked up, and the retirees are continuing to sew masks for charity.
Under alert level 2 lockdown in Auckland people are required to wear masks on public transport, and encouraged to wear them at all times when outside.
Do you have your mask ready for when lockdown laws are relaxed on Monday?
