What do you think about another rate
Hi neighbours A massive storm earlier in the year caused widespread damage and power outages that went on for up to a week in some parts of Auckland. Now a finance officer at Auckland Council has floated the idea of a targeted rate. He suggested some of the money come from development funds. However, he suggested ratepayers could pay a rate because their property values would increase with undergrounded power. What do you think? Is it worth another rate? Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
