Below is a review that explains why it will appeal to anyone who enjoys a night out at the theatre:
There are two subjects people often avoid — death and sex. Yet both are part of life’s journey, and The Cemetery Club brings them to the stage with warmth, humour, and unflinching honesty.
In just two hours, this production takes audiences through a heartfelt mix of laughter, friendship, guilt, nostalgia, and acceptance. With only three main characters and two cameo appearances, it’s an intimate piece of theatre that proves you don’t need a large cast or lavish set to make an impact — just truth and talent.
The layout of the set speaks volumes of creativity — portraying life and death flawlessly without ever moving a single prop. It’s a testament to thoughtful direction and design, where stillness becomes a powerful storytelling tool.
Each performer brings something special: sincerity, flair, and a deep understanding of life’s bittersweet turns. The chemistry between the leads feels effortless, drawing the audience into their shared history of love, loss, and renewal.
If you think growing older means letting go of joy or adventure, this play will prove otherwise. The Cemetery Club celebrates the courage to live, to love, and to laugh again — even after heartbreak. It reminds us to hold close the people and memories that shape us, while still finding reasons to dance and dream.
Touching, funny, and profoundly relatable, The Cemetery Club is a gem of a production — the kind of show that leaves you reflecting long after the final bow.
Performed by The Company theatre at the Rose Centre, directed by Kathy Gent featuring an exceptional cast who brought warmth, humour, and humanity to every moment. A standing ovation to the entire team for presenting such an honest and heartfelt piece of theatre that truly connects with audiences across generations. - Chirag & Rupal Solanki (TheatreWorks)
The Cemetery Club is performed at The Rose Centre, School Road, Belmont 8-22 November with tickets available from www.iticket.co.nz...

Three were detected in Glenfield and one in Birkdale, about 1.3 km from the initial detection in Glenfield.
Yellow-legged hornets pose a biosecurity risk because of their potential impact on honeybee and wild bee populations.
Members of the public are asked to report any sightings of suspected hornets or nests, but only if they have a specimen, a clear photo of the suspected hornet, or have found a possible hornet nest.
Reports can be made through report.mpi.govt.nz or by calling Biosecurity New Zealand’s exotic pest and disease hotline on 0800 809 966.
🔍 Identifying yellow-legged hornets:
The yellow-legged hornet has distinctive dark legs with bright yellow tips. In contrast, common wasp species in New Zealand, such as the German wasp (Vespula germanica), typically have uniformly yellow or yellow-striped legs.
The yellow-legged hornet is also much larger than honey bees and common wasp species seen in New Zealand.
