Kia ora,

The Team from Well Women and Family Trust: Cervical Smear Test clinic

‘Our hearts and thoughts go out to all women fighting against cervical cancer. Recently, Labour MP Kiritapu Allan shared her story as she typically carried on working while she awaited news of her tests. Kiri and many other women like her, prioritised her health above work and accessed services early. Though gutted at the results, Kiri is a fighter and is readying for a battle. Recovery is still hopeful. We thank her for advocating for women to be screened regularly and to seek help early when women detect something is out of the ordinary. Look after yourselves whanau. Ngà mihi. From the Well Women & Family Trust – experts in women’s health and specialists in cervical screening’.

He Whakatauki: Me aro koe ki te hā o Hine-ahu-one. Pay heed to the dignity of women. In other words: Pay heed to the Atua (spiritual entity), pay heed to the first creation of tangata (people) and the many learnings that come with it. Pay heed to te whare tangata (house of humanity).

Poll: Would you want an unconventional funeral?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Funerals can cost as much as $22,000 and the planning can be stressful especially at a time when loved ones are grieving. Some New Zealanders are re-imagining funerals by making their own coffin or having a relaxed ceremony at home. Would you want a less traditional funeral? Share your thoughts below.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.
