A Pakuranga shopkeeper was in a serious medical condition after two men were shoplifting at his store on August 4. A witness rushed to the shopkeeper's aid, who suffered a heart attack following the incident.

For many, it was their first experience of snow and they made full use of the sensory experience. “Some children needed some encouragement to join in, but from that point forward, they were unstoppable,” said Preschool teacher Amy Haigh. “It was wonderful seeing the looks of joy on their faces and the wonder as they touched it for the first time.”
