From November 11, it will be illegal to sell vapes to under 18’s and advertising and sponsorship of vaping products will be banned altogether. Vaping will also be banned in legislated smoke-free areas such as:
- indoor workplaces
- cafes and pubs
- schools and early childhood centres
- public transport.
We think that everyone, especially parents need to be aware that vapes are now R18 and can’t be used in schools.

After retiring she decided that she would spend some of her spare time volunteering when she saw the Amitabha Hospice advertisement needing volunteers to help people in their community.
Having completed the training course, attending weekly evening classes for 6 weeks, Anne now visits two Amitabha Hospice patients every week, spending a few hours chatting and helping them in many ways. She considers them both friends rather than her patients and says the ‘best aspect of volunteering is the friendship that is established - always people.’
