Urgently seeking foster carers for sibling groups

Lifewise Family Services

Lifewise is seeking a compassionate, family focused, big hearted couple or family to join our dedicated team of foster caregivers. Sadly, many children in New Zealand cannot remain in their own homes for a variety of reasons and typically, their lives have been turned upside down by chaos, neglect, abuse, and trauma.

Lifewise strives to minimise the impact that coming into care has on children who inevitably will experience a sense of loss of family, friends, schools and their community. We are therefore committed to keeping brothers and sisters together as much as possible so they at least don’t lose each other.

We have a large eight bedroom family home in West Auckland available. The home is private and well appointed with large grounds and it is expected that you would rent the property from our organisation at a substantially reduced rental as part of the agreed contract to caregive for Lifewise. This home will accommodate large sibling groups in foster care.

We also offer

• Strong induction training

• Ongoing training and development

• Regular peer support

• Minimum of weekly social work support

• 24-hour on call support and advice

• Financial reimbursement for the care of children

We need you to help us provide a future for children where they feel they matter, they achieve their milestones and can reach their full potential. We would love to hear from you so contact us today to enquire without obligation:

Share your New Zealand music memories...

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

It's NZ Music Month and New Zealand really has some beautiful songs from artists that we call our own.

Whether it's April Sun in Cuba, Don't Forget your Roots, or How Bizarre or Bic Runga's 'Sway' - songs have a way of unlocking memories and evoking old feelings.

In honour of NZ Music Month, share a New Zealand song or artist that is special to you and explain why.

Type 'Not For Print' if you wish your comments to be excluded from the Conversations column of your local paper.
