🎇🚦Major road renovations on Rathgar Road and Universal Drive🚦🎇

Fiona from Henderson

Some major road renovations which will include a new set of traffic lights, is about to start at the intersection of Rathgar Road and Universal Drive. Also included a splat of red/orange paint similar to the mess they did in Glen Eden and the dreadful blue in Henderson.

All of this is due to start 4 July until the end September.
Good times ahead while 3 months of chaos & traffic jams will happen in winter along Universal Drive which is normally very busy, but will be slowed down so much now.

Rathgar has already been inundated with those dreadful speed bumps and now this.
I wonder when the carnage will start along Lincoln Road that they were talking about before all the lockdowns happened?

I wish we had traffic lights at the Parrs Road/Bruce McLaren Intersection as opposed to the silly round-a-bout which is already breaking up and is far too big for this narrow road.

Bullying …

Markus from Green Bay

I just read the following article:

When I finished primary schooling there were two choices for secondary school, both equally distant. My parents chose one for me, but all the other kids from my school went to the other.

When school started two things became quickly obvious:

• everyone else had come in groups of three to six kids from their primary class
• we had three bullies in the class

The individual groups quickly closed ranks, and the bullies zoomed in on the lone target - me.

Now I hated the bullies - but I ABSOLUTELY DESPISED those just standing by and being relieved that it was someone else getting the abuse.

Which is why I NEVER have and NEVER will just stand by when someone is attacked.

The important lesson:

Bullying isn't the problem of the victim.

It isn't even the problem of the bullies.

It is a FAILURE of the class, school, and parents, of every single person lacking the moral courage to stand up against what is wrong.

People who rather go along with the attacks than stand up against them and risk becoming a target as well.

If you ever wondered how the Nazis could take over Germany - THAT is the very reason.

So my question to every parent: what have you taught your kids about bullying?
