If you live in Henderson, Kelston, Te Atatu, Glen Eden or New Lynn, have been impacted financially by the pandemic & are in need of a free food parcel, help is not too far away! Head down to the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Henderson at the corner of Lavelle & View Roads (opposite Holy Cross Church, Henderson) on Feb 19th between 12pm & 1pm & we will do our best to help you out. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
