Ōtara is in a fruit and vegetable lockdown after a facialis fruit fly was found.

It's the first time this particular fruit fly - which is native to Tonga - has been found in New Zealand, and it could be devastating to crops.

How has the fruit fly discovery affected you? Are you worried about purchasing local fruit and veges from the area? Will you still go to the Ōtara markets this weekend?

Backbone is circus like you’ve never seen before. From revolutionary Australian company Gravity & Other Myths, Backbone is contemporary circus stripped back to its core: physical, playful, and sometimes even painful.

Backbone tests the limits of the human body, featuring jaw-dropping physical feats, hair-raising acrobatics, and moments of hilarious absurdity.

An acrobatic marvel that has to be seen to be believed. Sweaty, sinuous, and seriously impressive.

Neighbourly has 10 double passes to giveaway to the premiere of Backbone, on Thursday, 14 March at 7.30pm. Simply like or thank this post to go into the draw to win!
