Speed Cameras Sunnybrae

Lloyd from Hillcrest

Theses cameras supposedly now operational. Of course one of the main reasons they were installed was because of the nearby school. That fair enough but a warning to locals, with school holidays imminent there will be no respite in the Councils zeal to fill their coffers so please be vigilant.

I don't know if all the expense in Sunnybrae Road laning has been justified. Most of the traffic appears to stay in the centremost lane regardless of the time of day. And whether the school has noticed any improvement is safety is to my knowledge unreported to date. The only adverse result I can see is the uncontrolled lane changing of vehicles at Evelyn/Ellen intersections, new Apartments, Burger King, Petrol station junctions. Certainly an accident there is inevitable.

Be careful everyone - have a great holiday break.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
