Recycling truck driver finds missing money: Auckland's North Shore
A North Shore resident's faith in humanity has been restored thanks to the quick witted actions of a recycling truck driver.
The sharp-eyed operator spotted the man's missing wallet containing $770 cash on the kerbside while collecting bins on Auckland's North
Shore.
The company tracked down the owner and returned his wallet.
To reward her vigilance, the relieved householder treated the truckie to lunch and gave her a $100 gift certificate.
Auckland Council waste collectors carry out nearly one million kerbside collections each week.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
