Witness to attempted car theft
Just a heads up. Three teenagers seen in Kay Drive Blockhouse Bay trying to steal car, interrupted by alarm and my running towards them... it was approximately 1300hrs 30/6, silver four door sedan possibly toyota or nissan license plate was on but they left quickly was EQ.... so couldnt get total plate they hoofed it. one girl very long black hair in ponytail. blue retro sports jacket with one thick colourful stripe on either side of jacket x 2 teenage boys dark clothing, hoodies, all poly/maori/asian appearance. went towards portage road new lynn. owner of car notified of damage.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
